At Kelvinside Academy the transition to a more specialist curriculum is seamless and pupils are encouraged to take more responsibility for their learning in a broad range of subjects.</td> </tr> <tr><th>S1 & S2</th> </tr> <tr><td>S1 and S2 pupils follow a common course which includes a wide range of subjects.  In S1 and S2 all pupils take Mathematics, English, Science, Geography, History, Modern Studies, RMPS, Art, Drama and Music. They can also choose two subjects from Spanish, French and Enterprise. ICT, PE and Games are also compulsory.</td> </tr> <tr><th>S3 & S4</th> </tr> <tr><td><p>In S3 and S4 all pupils will choose eight subjects to study towards National 4 or National 5 qualifications.  There is a wide variety of subject choice available which allows pupils a degree of specialisation in areas of strength whilst keeping future options open. All pupils must choose English, Mathematics, a science and a language. We also encourage our pupils to take a Social Subject. Pupils can choose from Art, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Computer Science, Drama, French, Geography, History, Modern Studies, Music, Physics, RMPS and Spanish.</p> <p>In addition, all pupils in S3 and S4 have periods of non-examinable subjects which include PSE, PE and Games.</p> </td> </tr> <tr><th>S5</th> </tr> <tr><td>In Senior 5 pupils focus on four or five subjects at a higher grade.
