Transportation & School Buses

We know getting around Glasgow can be difficult so, to help with transportation, we offer a school bus system, available to pupils in and around the city.

Welcome to our school bus system!

To access our secure system, there’s a £100 registration fee per child per year. After that, Kelvinside Academy heavily subsidises the buses, charging only £3 per day whenever your child uses the service. Please note that bus bookings for the 2024-25 school year are not yet open.

Our Routes

We offer five convenient school routes covering areas North, South, East, and West of Glasgow city centre. Use our Transport Platform to find the best bus route for your family:

Southside: Newton Mearns, Giffnock, Pollokshields
M74 Corridor: Chatelherault, Hamilton, Bothwell, Uddingston, Mount Vernon, Kelvinbridge
Renfrewshire: Kilmacolm, Bridge of Weir, Kilbarchan, Linwood, Paisley, Jordanhill
Northside: Drymen, Killearn, Strathblane, Milngavie, Bearsden, Maryhill
Stepps: Stepps, Lenzie, Kirkintilloch, Bishopbriggs

Our Transport Platform operates in partnership with StudentSafe, offering a technology-led transport management solution that prioritises safety above all else.

Registration Fee & Usage

Once registered for the bus service, the £100 fee per child per year will be added to your school fee note. You’ll then be charged monthly based on your child’s usage.

Bus fobs, used by children to register as they board each day, will be distributed during the first week of Autumn term.
