Jim Taylor Memorial Fund

Jim was a much loved and respected member of the Kelvinside family and beyond. He was well known and a well-loved member of the Glasgow rugby community.  A force to be reckoned with, Jim had an amazing positive attitude, who was able to connect with young and old alike and made a lasting impression wherever he went and with whoever he met. Jim started his relationship with Kelvinside Academy when he joined Junior 1 in 1960.  He loved all sports and remained a strong supporter of the School up until his death in December 2022.

In memory of Jim, we would like to create a lasting legacy, which would involve Sports Scholarships for our pupils and a pitch at Balgray in his name.

Involvement in sport teaches powerful lessons like the resilience in the face of defeat, dedication to yourself and to fellow teammates, and the ability to be a proud winner as well as a gracious loser.  Without doubt, the fund is set to have a lasting impact on the school community and honour the memory of Jim Taylor through the positive influence on countless young lives.
