Woodland Setting

Langbank Farm is home to Kelvinside Academy Green Forest Nursery. Our beautifully converted farm steading provides a bright, modern, stimulating and welcoming nursery environment, where children are at the centre of everything we do.

Nestled in 10 acres of mature private woodland and lush green paddocks, Kelvinside Academy Green Forest Nursery offers a wonderful educational setting for your child.  We focus on a balance between outdoor and indoor learning and encourage children to explore and develop their sense of curiosity.

As well as birdsong and cows mooing, the sound of laughter and happy chatter fills our nursery, where we strike the perfect balance between play and learning.

Our nursery boasts two large, open-plan play areas.  The Skylight Room, with its separate quiet room, caters for 1-2 year olds. The Courtyard Room offers our 2-5 year olds reading, baking, creative, technological, physical and free-play areas.

Daily outdoor playtime in our secure woodland garden, with its pirate ship, sandpit and hobbit house tunnel, is a highlight for all children.

Every child receives the very best early years education within a safe, inspiring and fun environment.

Learning

Children are given the time and space they need to be children. Crucially, they are free to play, explore and imagine.

By playing and learning with other children from a young age, our pupils develop strong social skills as they learn to share and make friends.  Within our nursery, our pupils also learn to listen, follow instructions and to work independently or as part of a group – all essential skills to facilitate an easy transition to school.

Outdoor Play

Young children thrive in an outdoor setting, as minds and bodies develop best when they have access to a stimulating outdoor environment where they can learn through play and real experiences and adventures.

Our woodland garden and direct access to woodlands and green fields allow children to thrive; learning and playing outdoors throughout the seasons.  Green Forest Nursery is a magical place where children can develop a wonder of nature and foster an understanding of the environment in which they live.

Children as individuals

From the earliest stage, each little person forms a strong relationship with their key worker, who ensures planned, personalised and purposeful learning through play.  Each key worker leads activities based around the child’s age, learning style, developmental needs and interests of the individual children in their care.

The combination of play, learning and care at Kelvinside Academy Green Forest Nursery, together with its connection to Kelvinside Academy School, is invaluable in preparing your child for school life.

Whether deep in a book in the reading den, painting a masterpiece, dreaming up science investigations, singing songs, looking at nature or just having fun in the mud kitchen, Green Forest Nursery is a very happy and inspiring place for a child.
