Admissions Registrar

Kelvinside Academy is a successful independent school with a 140-year history. Due to the
retirement of the current post holder, we seek an outstanding Admissions Registrar to join
our thriving Marketing and Admissions Department.


You will be enthusiastic, full of creative ideas and willing to play your part in a cohesive and
ambitious team. The Admissions Registrar will have responsibility for the day to day pupil
recruitment and admissions process for our Nurseries, and Junior and Senior schools.


The role centres upon building strong and lasting relationships with prospective parents and
pupils. As a prominent public representative of the School you will excel in customer service
and be energetic and enthusiastic with outstanding communication and organisational skills.
Previous experience in a similar role within the education sector would be beneficial.


Normal working hours are 35 hours per week Monday to Friday, however the successful
applicant will be expected to be flexible and work additional hours around School events such
as Open Day and Assessment Day.


Main Areas of Responsibility
Serve as the primary point of contact for all enquiries relating to pupil admissions.


Manage and execute an efficient, warm and welcoming admissions service, ensuring a
professional approach to parents, pupils, staff and the wider public.


To work closely with prospective pupils and parents to understand their individual needs
and effectively communicate how the School’s ethos and values align to those needs.


To manage the end to end administration all pupil applications.


To ensure effective and accurate reporting of recruitment figures, trends and projections
to the Director of Admissions and Communications.


To ensure the School’s Admissions data system is kept up to date and accurate at all
times.

Support for Learning Assistant (Part Time - approx. 18 hours)

Kelvinside Academy is an independent, HMC co-educational day school of some 600 pupils
aged 3-18 in the west end of Glasgow.


We seek a Support for Learning Assistant (SfLA) to support pupils throughout the School.
Pupil contact would be across Junior and Senior School supporting both in classes and in
small groups under the direction of Head of Support for Learning. Senior School support
would primarily be from SP-S3, supporting specific pupils identified by the department and in
consultation with Faculty Heads. All directed pupil support needs would be identified by the
Head of Support for Learning in consultation with teachers. Junior School pupil support will
be allocated in consultation with Senior Teachers of Junior School. This role is clearly for
pupil support, not classroom assistant support. The Support for Learning Department
comprises a team of 3 staff members.


As a single-site, all-through school emphasis is placed upon achieving a smooth progression
from Primary into Secondary. The Senior School Faculties work closely with the Junior
School.


The school aims to bring out the best in every pupil, combining high standards of teaching
and a superb extra-curricular programme within an inclusive and caring ethos. Sport, outdoor
pursuits, music, drama and art flourish, together with a range of clubs and societies. There is

After School Club - Adhoc Staff

 Kelvinside Academy is looking for suitably qualified or experienced staff to join the regular team of the After School Club on a temporary basis at times of staff absence or when the number of children calls for additional personnel. The need for extra staffing is unpredictable and can be for a day at a time or for longer. This position would suit someone who works part-time or a student with some experience of working with children. The Club is open for three hours a day during term times between 3.00 and 6.00pm.
